What's In A Name?

I really, really love how my host family all calls me Julie, since apparently Johanna is just too much.

Also, here's a gratuitous mountain shot.

Apparently....this is the translation of "John" ...can they make it female? I'm sure you can read it.....I CAN'T because it's an elvish-y alphabet! Although "Julie" is nice...IT'S NOT YOUR NAME! hahahaha!
As a side note, when Dad and I got married by the Russian priest, his Greek wasn't that good. Dad was "betrothed to the hand maiden of god, JOHN" Three times in fact! (He didn't know the female version.) I kept wondering who this "john" dude was. So....maybe....
The picture of the mountains is gorgeous! What a sight to wake up to every morning!

  2. Unsure if they have a "John," actually. I haven't met one yet! John and Mary (although they have Marium) are two names that I have yet to run into here, which is strange considering how Orthodox this place is! So if Julie is easier for them, I'll let em have it!
